The Switch to RCS Pumps and more brake stuff Empty
PostSubject: The Switch to RCS Pumps and more brake stuff   The Switch to RCS Pumps and more brake stuff Icon_minitime1Thu Jun 01, 2017 7:32 am

So I finally pulled the trigger on the radial mc pumps for the GRiSO 1100.

Couple of quick questions before I dive in.

1) Since this is the 1100, are there any other parts that I need? I see something about an axial to radial converter? Do I need this?

2) As long as I have everything ripped apart (OK that was a bit dramatic but) should I replace the brake lines?

3) How long should front rotors last? I currently have about 18,000 mi on my 1100

4) I will soon have some brembo coffin style MC's with CRG shorty levers for sale in the marketplace.

Thanks!

I had to replace my G11 rotors at 40,000 miles.  They had a lot of fore-n-aft slop going on.  I'm sure spending some quality canyon time in the Malibu hills had something to do with it.   Previous Owner

No.

I did when I went to radial m/c. The stock lines have angled fittings that don't play nice with the radial m/c. Or at least they didn't for me. YMMV.

That's a bit like asking "how long is a piece of string"? It depends entirely on how much braking you did/do.

cheers

The rotor carriers should have the minimum thickness stamped on them. A micrometer or caliper will tell how close you are to needing replacements.
