Just the thing for "statutory write-offs" - I am afraid to ask the price though...
Interestingly, they also seem to supply kit to upgrade from 1151cc to 1380cc. Any ideas of cost?

One has to ask why? It doesn't look significant lighter or stiffer than the stock frame.
I suppose a larger fuel tank is possible........

The front looks stiffer. It can be lighter too. I suppose it will take some time to grow. It won't be for the looks only. Guareschi is a passionate dealer and racer. With the v7 he is champion in Italy.
His brother was/is something in the race department at Ducati.

What is the wet weight of the street version (well you wouldn't want to race it, 600's are smaller lighter faster).
When they finish I'll build you one with 160+HP, and under 200kg wet, with a shorter wheelbase, lower height, and bigger fuel tank.

Looks a bit like the frame architecture of the purported V85.
I'm not knocking it, it just looks heavier and I know the GRiSO frame is not only strong as buggery and had a great structural line between steering head and swingarm.

The interesting thing is, go to the web site and maximize the photo of the left hand side. It appears they have a 5 spoke (BST? ) wheel that attaches to the crown wheel with the standard 4 bolts.
These should be available for all CARCS, should they not?

I wonder how much a pair of those would set you back.

I had a customer yesterday (lovely young lass she was) who's husband had fitted a set of Dymag magnesium wheels to her VFR400. I used to race one of these and they are ballistic in corners in stock trim. She has saved 700g (grams) off the front wheel/disc/tyre combo, and 1.2kg off the rear wheel set up. They live 2 houses from a round-a-bout and she nearly crashed on her first entry, it just tips in so much smoother/quicker/effortless etc.
I have saved 4.5kg on the front and 4.3kg on the rear with my setup, but my bike has a longer wheelbase and is 50kg heavier than the 400 (+ my fat arse).
Point being, it is not how much it costs, after Beetles map and a decent shock, super light weight wheels are by far the biggest bang for your buck you'll ever get as far as riding pleasure is concerned.
SO WHICH ONE OF YOU ITALIAN SPEAKING, LATTE SIPPING, SPAGHETTI EATING, VINO DRINKING (I'm only good for the last 3) members is going to contact them and find out a price on the wheels?

Can't find any english versions of the website, but wiki had this;
The son of a Parmesan Moto Guzzi distributor, Guareschi began his racing career in 1988 at the age of 17.[1] He raced for the Cagiva factory racing team in the 125 cc Italian national championship alongside his teammate and future world champion, Valentino Rossi.[2] Guareschi progressed to the 600 cc Italian national championship where, he finished in third place in three consecutive seasons between 1992 and 1994.[1] In 1995, he won the Italian Supermono national championship for single-cylinder motorcycles aboard a Yamaha SZR660.[1]
Guareschi made his international racing debut in 1996, competing in the European Supersport Championship for the Italian Belgarda-Yamaha team. He secured three podium results and finished in fifth place in the championship. In 1997, he competed in the Supersport World Championship, winning three races and narrowly losing the championship by one point to Ducati rider Paolo Casoli.[3] He repeated as runnerup in the 1998 Supersport World Championship, this time to Suzuki rider, Fabrizio Pirovano.[3]
In 1999, Guareschi and the Belgarda-Yamaha team fielded a Yamaha YZF-R7 in the Superbike World Championship, where he secured one podium result with a third place at the A1-Ring in Austria, and finished the year ranked tenth in the world championship.[3] In 2000, he was joined on the Belgarda team by Noriyuki Haga. Guareschi scored another podium result with a third place at Phillip Island in Australia, but dropped to twentieth in the season final standings.[3]
Guareschi joined the Ducati factory racing team in 2001, competing aboard a Ducati 748 in the Supersport World Championship and finishing the season in sixteenth place.[3] After the 2001 season, Guareschi stopped racing to become the development rider for the Ducati factory racing team's new MotoGP entry, the Desmosedici.[4] He raced one final time, entering the Monza round of the 2004 Supersport World Championship, where he finished in eighth place.[3] Guareschi continued in his role as Ducati's chief development rider until November 5, 2009, when he was named as team manager of the Ducati MotoGP team, succeeding the Honda-bound Livio Suppo.[5]
At the end of the 2013 MotoGP season, Guareschi resigned his position with Ducati to take on the role of team manager for Valentino Rossi's Sky Racing Team by VR46 in the Moto3 category.[6] He left the team in September 2014.[7]

This is the brother of the one you have the text about, Vittoriano Guareschi "Vitto"
The shop is ran by his younger brother Gianfranco "Guaro" And yes Rossi is a good friend there.

Gotta admit the engine/gearbox/CARC look sexy when highlighted by the Ohlins and red frame. Almost too pretty to put the tank back on (almost).

Whilst browsing the web, I came across (‘scuse pun) some beautiful bling on Guareschi Moto site in Italy. Subsequently found a thread on here about them…

…a bit dated, but the answer for those with deep pockets:
5-spoke Marvic Magnesium wheels, from Guareschi Moto
“Here is a model with unique characteristics of its kind. Thanks to the five hollow spokes of tubular section, this gravity-cast sand-cast wheel finds its maximum expression in terms of rigidity and resistance to fatigue without sacrificing in any way its overall mass which therefore remains at the top in terms of lightness. A perfect and technically developed magnesium wheel that never fails on the starting grid of major competitions around the world.”
