| So Mark, If you still have your Aprilia mirrors and would like to get some of that $826.54 back, let me know. I still have the horrid chrome originals. I have had the Aprilia mirrors before on my two Aprilias prior to going GRiSO. | |

| As one who has bought many cheapies, I do not sneer. However, I must ask. Are you planning on machining the inserts off the mirrors? Drilling out the bars? Or perhaps a nice black spacer? Or do you have aftermarket handle bars? | I drilled my handlebars to install these mirrors. Like you Beetle, I have gone through a ton of bar end mirrors not only for the GRiSO but other bikes too. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] You mean I can't believe the Chinese vendor that "This will fit the Moto Guzzi Stornello?" I am crushed. Seriously, I have had (surprisingly to me) great success with all of the alibaba stuff I've ordered, either in it worked or easy return. So, I figure I'll see how they look and work ... or don't. Hmmmmmm. So it would seem. I had hoped that your pic was a generic one they used for all. Not. | Beetle, I'd be interested to know what you considered to be the best of the cheepies. I'd like to fit bar ends on mine, but there's no way I could justify £200+ for those REALY nice ones you've got, especially now that greasing the swingarm bearings has cost the best part of £150. Got to build up some brownie points with the misses again now. Mick

Uhm. OK, what sort of increa$e? In the meantime, would that provide as much entertainment as my present situation? Well, yes, I think they understand. So, while it is interesting that their first offer was to provide a full refund, I am fearful that if I fight on the theory that they previously said that I would get a full refund, and, after all, it was their ad that incorrectly claimed it would fit my Stornello, that the new offer will be 1/4 refund! If I keep arguing, pretty soon I'll owe them money! On the bright side, it is only $20. Besides (and sort of seriously), what do you or others think about just sawing off that offending protrusion and then grinding down the stub so that it would fit flush against the grip? Bill

$52 US dollars. Plus shipping. Alternative plan, by Beetle: I would not drill, grind, smack with very large hammer, or otherwise deface the handlebars. The threaded "insert" is press fit into the bars, then either crimped or welded. I don't know exactly how far into the bars they go, but the interwebs reckon 5mm. If there is enough "meat" in the new mirror fitting, as indicated by the arrows in the below pic, I would either cut or grind off the protruding teat, and then drill the fitting deep enough to slip over the bar insert. | Excuse my ignorance Bill, but is there some sort of screw fitting that goes into the black bar end and the handlebar? As Beetle suggested cut off teat and drill the fitting or maybe an ali spacer to fit over lump in handlebar.

Just back from over-eating out and about to do same to a bottle here at home. Will respond tomorrow. Oh .... thanks Mr. Beetle. I may actually be capable of that fix. May. If not, $53 might be the answer. Now, I have to respond to my commie-capitalist handlers. Bill

Well, yes, I think they understand.

Bill While their reply is quite amusing, Ebay has quite good customer protection systems. Just insist on a full refund if their add stated it would work for your bike. If they don't agree open a case with ebay. The vendor will have x days/weeks to properly solve it. If they refuse to refund you, ebay will judge the case and reimburse you themselves and put sanctions on the vendor. But in my experience the vendors will never let it get that far. I had one send me like a half a dozen emails begging me to close the case against them because it caused 'big problems' for them. But since I didn't trust them too much I didn't until I got the replacement item, as you cannot re-open a case you closed. Obviously when I got the replacement item I did close the case. Also had another incident with a crooked vendor who never send the item and didn't reply. Ebay actually send me a message before I even opened a ticket, warning me that the vendor may have been fraudulent and that I was eligible for reimbursement if the item had not been received by me.
