mystery plug? well it is to me

Well I got the tank off for the first time - what a horrid connector!

Found the condom! and it is intact - so no baby GRiSOs

Found the breather pipes and they are intact

....What is it and should it be connected - if so to what??

Take a pair of these:

And connect whatever you like. It's switched, so only active (I think) with engine running.

Right, only active with engine running.

I had an "old style" TomTom Rider that used that plug and wired all of my battle fleet for that, tho, as yours, some came with it.

Later, I bought a new TomTom Rider 550 without knowing that the T2 suits had decided it was time to ... erm ... "pull the plug" on that earlier connector.  They no doubt clinked lots of cocktail glasses and grinned over that move.  

So, I then snipped the old and attached one of these to all: New Style TomTom Connector

Keep the plug, there is a plug that attaches to that with wires on the other end to connect to...allows you to use the older Tom Tom or the newer ones.

Mercedes extension cable #A230-540-01-66 and BMW #83300402344 are supposed to fit it.
