Been trying to write this trip up, but so excited, today I thought I'd post a few pictures as I'm going to take an age to write the full account.
Two up, 2000 miles in 10 days: Home, Harwich, Hook of Holland, Bremen, Rostock, Trelleborg, and up into Sweden to somewhere unpronounceable in the woods for mid summer, then back home. Burst the rear shock on the way back, just got a new one from Maxton today (hence the excitement).

Thanks Paulbrice, I'm no David Bailey (but I do like the one with the eagle on the lorry) I have read all the posts about the shock and was going to go with a Matris, but that was £1200 + vat + delivery in 8 weeks, and they wouldn't tell me anything about the spring rate/travel etc.
Maxton (just down the road from you Paul) tried to dissuade me from the remote adjuster, that would have knocked over £200 off the price I paid (£1080 all in and two weeks delivery, made to my spec from scratch) but in for a penny....I have Maxton fork internals on my Le Mans (Shortened SPIII forks) and they work very well, so I am optimistic. If you don't go for the remote preload adjuster, they have a unique adjuster that doesn't require any special tools (just a tommy bar), which they said was very easy to adjust. They were also happy to discuss anything technical and it comes with adjustable everything including fast and slow damping and a manual detailing all the settings (their best guess from the info I initially supplied)....probably overkill for me but what ho? I'll be fitting it this weekend and getting used to it and scrubbing in some new rubber next week, then off to Pembroke fully loaded the following weekend. Wait. Out.
I also have a tale of woe about Moto Corsa....but that's another story (but still related to the Sweden trip).

Sounds like a great trip Minety.
Did you have a passenger for the trip?
I too will be very interested to hear what you learn about the Maxton
