Great to see everybody on Saturday for our weekly biker breakfast gathering at the country club. I was surprised at the crowd in spite of a questionable weather outlook. Having a ham & cheese omelet while overlooking the gentle rain falling on the golf greens was kinda nice until the realization that we had to eventually go home.
Thankfully, the rain stopped and revealed some sunshine by the time we wandered out to the bikes for our tire-kicking session. It didn't last forever and several texted me after leaving to say they got a drenching on their way home. Oh well. That's part of the deal. Makes one feel young again. Right?
When I left the parking lot intending to head home, I changed my mind and turned the new red GRiSO north and ended up doing a 450 mile excursion to central Alabama. I wanted to run the bike through its break-in period and also recon that upcoming day trip we've been talking about since it's a new place. I had a ball and missed all the rain drama.
I love this bike. Nothing like a big block Guzzi on the road.

Very nice, Leafman. Bike and roads look great. I would love to do the Deep South of the US one day. The food may take some getting used to though

Hi David, Tom said you'd bought one. You've owned CARC bikes before so you know about the need to address the swingarm bearings and linkage. With the later models you avoid most of the issues with sump gaskets and the like so after the suspension you're good to go. I'd recommend a map from Mark but that of course is up to you.

Thanks. Not sure what all I am going to do yet. Yeah, I know too well everything I need to sort out if I keep the bike. I like riding the GRiSO, though, and the stock map on mine is not that bad. Maybe it has something to do with being at sea level. Spirited riding is also giving me 38-39 miles per gallon (US).

Pretty Sweet ride David, best CARC out there. Like LM3's? Been working on a 84 Red 10K mi, like new almost. It'll be for sale. Welcome to the Ghetto.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Steve! You're the man. That's a nice looking LM3. It's my favorite edition of that LeMans line. I had a nice one in white.
Steve is not only one of the, if not the, most knowledgeable Guzzi wrenches around but he has a lot of class ! Very polite and courteous.
Don't get the big head now, Steve!
