Cold as hell, as usual, road conditions sub-par due to the winter season, but an epic ride, as always, our annual tradition continues. Steak took lots of pictures which I'm sure he'll post here shortly along with a more detailed ride report, but I'll tell you that we had thirteen riders, all on Italian bikes; eleven Guzzis including three Ghetto members, Steak, Street and Fresh Egg, plus one Aprilia and one Ducati. Here's a picture of the entire gang at our lunch spot at the By The Bay Cafe in Sekiu, Washington, eighteen miles from our ultimate destination of Neah Bay, the northwesternmost town in the continental US.

It was cold (27-34 ℉), the roads were wet, or icy, or covered in slick de-icer. It was the scariest ride I've ever been on out to Neah Bay! With 8 rookies on this ride, I'm surprised as hell that not a single bike went down. Still, it was a fantastic way to start out a new Guzzi year!
Here are some photos.

Met up with some riders from the north and south for a top off before heading to the peninsula. Now 8:54 am and 27℉ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

A customized 1100 Sport, Fresh Egg's GRiSO, an Eldorado, and two Norges. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The Bistecca Corse Diavolo Nero... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
At 40 with his 69 Ambassador, Karl was the youngest rider on the oldest bike. He absolutely rides the shit out of a loop frame... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Maybe stopped too long in Port Angeles, it's really cold... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The fast group waits for group 2 before making the turn to head out to Sekiu and Neah Bay. Although fast is a definite misnomer on this ride... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Stopping for lunch in Sekiu, just short of Neah Bay and the Makah tribal reservation. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Fresh Egg (Jin) cuts a mighty fine figure... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Which always begs the question, does Jin have a brother named Ken?

Kind of funny, the youngest rider was on the oldest bike, and the oldest rider was on the newest bike... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Pete and Dick yucking it up. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
The whole enchilada! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Better late than never, Tony "catches up" to us on his Ducati Multistrada. He had passed us in Port Angeles and rode all the way out to Neah Bay before turning back and finding us bellied up in Sekiu only 20 minutes after we arrived. (He started out 30 minutes behind. He's a beast!) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Tony's Multistrada, still steaming from chasing us down. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Turned out to be a very nice day out on the point. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
On to the terminus of Neah Bay, just a few quick shots before heading back. We wanted to get a move on as darkness falls too soon this time of year.
A selfie with a pirate patch... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
All lined up at the Quay. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Last one, no time for any more photos on the trip back... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Finished off the trip at the 9lb Hammer for some welcome beer upon returning to Seattle!
Happy New Year to all of the Bravi!

Gees, I'd have to buy some new kit to ride with you lot. Been thinking of how to refrigerate my jacket over here to stop melting.

You make me jealous!! I have taken the little red Honda out of the shed this morning. 50 cm snow by the evening, and still falling... GRiSO is sleeping under her sheet and probably dreaming of warm spring days.

Looks like a great turnout. Was able to do a 100+ miler on New Years Day with several other riders. Was quite cold...32*, but the Gerbings did the trick.
Was on the GS, not the GRiSO. The next day I fitted the GRiSO with the Gerbings pigtail and took it out for another ride.

Bioman, I like playing in the snow and would love to have a white xmas at least once in my life, but the reality of being snowed in for six months would send me bonkers. I get cabin fever here if it just rains for 3 days in a row.

Unfortunately I agree with you. Can't wait for the kids to grow up so that we can spend these 6 winter months in (much) sunnier places. Then again, if you like to ski, this is the place to be.

Hi guys,
very nice pics of that cold winter ride. I won't do that anymore, drove only motorbike for more than 20 years... My GRiSO is settled near to his heater in the garage, the garage isn't getting colder as 5°C (41°F). And I really don't like it anymore to ride my G12, which I tender..., on salty roads. He has to stay in perfect condition, inside and outside.
I hate all that winter stuff, I hope to move (over some years) to a place where's allmost no winter. My wife and I like to be somewhere in the middel to south of Italy or Spain.
