Oil pressure sensor Empty
PostSubject: Oil pressure sensor   Oil pressure sensor Icon_minitime1Wed May 20, 2015 9:30 am

Hi everyone,
Once again I have to face with the problem.
Last time I dried it out, changed the oil and made a loop to prevent any water penetration.
This is what happened today: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
It only happens when engine is hot.
Is this really only a oil pressure sensor problem or maybe something worse is going on?
Is the sensor is a m12x1.5?
I've read that it maybe a problem with the upper sump gasket.

It's doing the exact same thing my wife's GRiSO is doing. My guess is the sensor. I noticed when poking around up there, trying to see it, that it's weeping oil too.

Mine was cleaned last time. I will order a new sensor next week. This time it will be a BMW sensor.

It should fit and it is much cheaper here in Poland. And definitely more lasting.
I'll keep You posted.

I did the same for my mate's Stelvio two weeks ago.

He ordered a Guzzi oil pressure sensor but apparently a revised part with spade connector which needed an adapter to fit. (M10 to M12)

So we went to a nearby local automotive part store and bought a BMW oil pressure sensor which is exactly like the one you posted.

It fits perfectly, no adapter needed, no connector modification needed to fit.

Is it an automotive part, or a BMW motorcycle part?

This is an automotive part.
Today my Guzzi was running great. Without any issue. I'm glad because it means that my problem is not mechanical problem.
