Fuel filters Empty
PostSubject: Fuel filters   Fuel filters Icon_minitime1Tue Sep 08, 2015 6:03 am

G'day all
Have read on this site about GRiSO's being stopped by the tank internal fuel filter lines separating.
Its a job I have contemplated but scared and hesitant to do, ie the dreaded plastic quick release and it's issues.
Today I looked back thru the service history that the previous owner passed onto me.
The last service which was done at the Bassendean WA Guzzi agents shows one of the items as -
2. 01106090. Fuel filter $22.68. Ea. $49.90
Question.
Why 2 ? I thought there was only one and this one was internal inside the fuel tank.
One would think that at least one of these is the internal one, or would there be 2 internals ?
There is not an external one is there ?
Would it not be reasonable to assume that the internal lines therefore would have been done up good and tight better than the possible factory issue that allowed the lines to separate ?
I do not want to go thru the trauma of getting inside the tank unnecessarily.
What do you reacon ?
Caoi

That fuel filter sounds cheap at $22.68, and for two the math aint right either. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

However, I can help you undread the plastic quick release, quickly.

1. Lift your tank and disconnect the 2 electrical connectors for pump and fuel guage.
2. Turn on ignition and push "Start" button. (This releases the fuel pressure within the line)
3. Push line towards connector, while pulling back on white collar.

You could ring the shop in question. Or you could follow Ghezzis advice ,and have a look yourself, it is a dead simple job
