| I hate you Glen , you do live in a motorcyclists paradise. I rode Fat GRiSO home to his new stable , parked him next to Rosso and Suzy. I hopped on the GRiSO to move it forwards and shit it feels small      PS: The tyres on the Fat GRiSO are the Pirelli Scorpions, you know, the chunky tread. Rear is worn out, but it still grips better than the  metzellers on the GRiSO. I'm in two minds as what to fit. Scorpions , or some angel gt's. PPS: Thanks again Beetle, goes like a scalded cat  , and still returns 5.3 L/ 100 when pushed all day  And thanks Wayne for the Dark and Stormy Coffees [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Installed a "new" horn on one side. Yeah, only one. Always thought the OEM set-up was near worthless as it sounds anemic. Â I had some after-market horns intended for my Ballabio that have been gathering dust for years. So, trying to avoid "Kathi's List," I wandered down to the Moto Grappa this afternoon to find something more fun to do. Â Kathi keeps a "Perpetual Task List" of things; I used to hide her paper lists, but her laptop has a long memory. Â Â The horn project was perfect. For some reason, no doubt related to my ignorance of DC electricity, I could not get two to work quite right, so left in an old and new. Â VERY much louder. Anyway, here are some pix of my "work." | Wasn't today, but last November whilst heading thru the ACT. The nice letter did arrive today however.... 123 in a 100 zone, that'll be $440 and 3 points please Sir. I guess as I didn't see it, it was a 'hidden' camera. Democracy in action. | |

| I keep asking Police the question; "How many tickets get issued posthumously every year"?
As in, how many motorists end up in the morgue before the Postman arrives.
They will not tell me. |

| Ordered a Dart Marlin (in dark), [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ... … and took off the OEM (POS). [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I’ll be sending it to Pete. Lord knows why he wants it. Â I am pleased (and somewhat annoyed) by the knowledge that he’ll no doubt mount it with none of the #$%^&* issues I encountered, e.g., poor fitting leading to cracked headlight shell. Â No need to check your mailbox just yet, Pete, as I am still sorting out what fasteners I need to send … and keep. Â May have to wait for Marlin to get here. Â Bill | |

| No worries Bill, I was going to ask you if it had left yet but then got tied up with Jean's funeral. I told the story about how she took me to see a soft core porn movie when I was 13! Not a dry eye in the house and they weren't crying through grief! Pete | |

| Pete, any chance of a rewrite of Jean's eulogy on this site? I guess we would all like a pretty decent laugh. Assume the kirk didn't fall down around your shoulders? | |

| Hey Pete, are you back in Oz yet? If you are, can I book my GRiSO to get all the things done to it that it needs, and then add some fine suspension? Thanks. | |

Pete, any chance of a rewrite of Jean's eulogy on this site? I guess we would all like a pretty decent laugh. Assume the kirk didn't fall down around your shoulders? Not really much to tell. I was a revolting child and periodically I'd be bundled off to visit Jean on some pretext or other. When I was about 13 this occurred and one Morning Jean said, "Why don't we go to the cinema?" Fine by me I thought. Anyway Jean pulled out the paper and said "Righto." And off we went. We drove to some sticky seated flea pit in Eastleigh where they were showing Jean's pick. A truly dreadful film called '1000 Years BC' or some such nonsense. What it was was basically a soft core porn flick that used some pathetic, impossible and improbably bad plot line as an excuse for Raquele Welch to get her udders out! You can imagine the effect this had on a pubescent lad and I remember Jean shaking with mirth beside me and periodically leaning over to ask me if I was OK! Of course I wasn't OK! There I was sitting next to my 50 year old auntie who was convulsing with laughter in a darkened auditorium looking a Raquelle Welches jiggling tits! Worst day EVER! Only of course it wasn't. It was just one of the many times she gave me a life lesson in being human! I grew up in a very cold household. Not just physically cold. The house was a sort of three story chimney with next to no heating. Even in mid summer there would be little pools of liquid nitrogen on the stairs and the banisters would be frosted with dry ice! But it was also a cold place both emotionally and physically, my parents were both products of pre-WW1, Victorian/Edwardian values and both physical intimacy and loud behaviours were frowned upon! Luckily Jean, who was born in 1920, was both a beneficiary of the more 'Liberal' values of being bought up in the 1920's and was also a much more 'Physical' person. She drove Ambulances during WW2 and married her husband at two days notice when he was told he was going to Normandy for the D-Day landings. I don't know what beachhead he came ashore at but he and Jean had essentially known it would be a virtual death sentence. In fact he survived, but only after surviving a German stick grenade landing next to him, (I thought this had occurred in Italy but I found out differently from Jon last week.). He lost most of his hearing, several fingers and when he died ten or so years ago he still had fragments of metal in him. That changed her perceptions on life and bringing up a young family, virtually on her own, in Tanganyka where David was posted as a district officer in the dying years of empire made her strong enough to not take shit from anyone. She was the only one of three siblings who was half way sane and I owe a lot of my 'Humanity' to her. She was a damn fine egg. 96 was a damn fine trot and she didn't waste a second of it! Pete | |
