Tauranga - Motu - Rotorua - Tauranga yesterday
Light rain in Tauranga, good weather in the eastern bay, then heavy rain the last 80Kms From Hells Gate to Tauranga.
There has been a lot of rain everywhere, for the last couple of weeks, so, although i had good weather for a lot of the trip, the roads were still wet in patches, especially in sheltered corners. Also there were a few slips that was washing mud onto the road as well as the usual country road conditions of cow s**t, Sheep S**t, horse ... well you get the idea. as well as the accompanying wandering stock and stock trucks and logging trucks, all in all, standard fare.
So the trip was not as quick as it may have been, but just as much concentration needed.
The tyres inspired confidence. I have the standard Metzler Roadtec Z8 that came with the bike. Not one slip on the whole trip. The temperature varied between 15'C eastern Bay and 9'C Rotorua.
Google maps suggest the trip was 413Kms, my odometer read 397Km.
I have adjusted my speedo to read correct to a GPS, so this may have affected the odometer?
The fuel consumption is suggested to be around 5.9L/100. This the best i've ever got out of it. And i
think it may be better if I recorded the distance and fuel used properly. I am using beetle's map for standard exhaust.
