Dear fellow Grisoers

I acquired a 2006 first owner GRiSO 1100 and amazingly the very nice lad who owned it did not care much about the Startus Interruptus issues and that the clunck of the transmission can be improved by replacing the bushing in the reaction rod (at the swing arm pivot end).

Startus Interruptus issue has been solved now (it seems so far) with that great little kit from the Italian forum Animaguzzista.net.

Now I would like to solve the clunck issue as it is a well known problem that can be improved by changing the original bush to Silent Block (part.nr. 883045) as Guzzi does it itself since the introduction of Stelvio.

Now I have the chance to acquire a brand new 1200 GRiSO V8 reaction rod that has got the 883045 Silent block included. I consider buying it and simply interchange it with my original reaction rod that has not got the silent block. I know there is a color difference as the 8V GRiSO has a darker close to black engine/gearbox/cardan but that does not bother me.

The part numbers of the reaction rods for the 4V and 8V GRiSO in the part lists are not the same. I still suppose they are the same part. Can someone confirm or deny?

Many thanks
Tom

Hi Tom
Don't forget to grease up the swing arm assembly and drive line also, mine, like most others left the factory with very little ....
Search this subject on this site for full details
Doing this will take a lot of the 'noises' away also
Not a difficult job
Good luck with it

And eliminating as much free play as possible in the throttle cables will work wonders too.

Well
to finish the story:
I had the chance to acquire a brand new reaction rod with the Stelvio-type silent block bushing for 92 Euros that came off a 2010 GRiSO. That saved me from doing the job of getting the old bushing out and new silent bloscks in and I have a spare reaction rod in addition.
To come to the point:
the differfence is very noticeable. Gear change reactions are now a lot smoother. With the old bushing using the second gear was a bit harsh - and that's what you use most in town. Now it's fine. It's not perfect but totally acceptable.
So main factory faults - startus interruptus and reaction rod bushing - sidelined.
Looking forward to this spring and summer
Tom

part number is different when color is different, is another part, so new number.
