Yesterday in Calgary temps hit 37C (~100f) on my commute home. While stopped at red lights, i could really feel the heat radiating and heating up the back of my legs/calf muscles... When i got home i tried to touch the Trans and CARC and they were dang hot to the touch. Prolly not hot enough to sear a steak, but im sure hot enough to boil water given some time. Is it normal for these to get hot? I changed engine oil, Trans, and CARC at 3800kms with synthetic. at 7700kms now.

Commute in this morning was a much cooler 12c ambient. shorter distance, higher speed, less clutching. and the cases were only slightly warm to the touch.

Am i being overly paranoid about the heat?

The trans and CARC are pretty bullet proof on these bikes...in all types of weather.
You're good. So stop it! Very Happy

Had a 2V air cooled Ducati with an oil cooler and oil temp gauge.
Always panicked when oil temp wasn't in optimum range.

Then realized I had been riding air cooled bikes for 30 years, rain hail or shine, caning the piss out of 'em with nary a thought for oil temps and component wear. Nuffin blew up.

Also noticed with my carbon fibre wheels, they don't dissipate heat like alloy hubs and wheels do. Diff runs a little warmer but I aint racing the thing with 200hp, no problems.
Tyres stay warmer too.
