| Flicked the Michelin Pilot Road 5's (cupping at 3500kms) and went to the ever reliable Pirelli Angel GT's. | |

| Nice 200 mile ride today to raise awareness for a local women's shelter. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Of course the only Guzzi.... GRiSO front end felt off today, bike wanted to flop and wheel turned itself in slow speeds/parking lot, but was a bit slow and resisted turn in at higher speeds. Thought I was running normal 36F 38R pressures, but maybe the front was low. | |

| Bulldog your rear tyre looks squared off, so maybe your front is well worn. New boots make a hell of an improvement to handling. | |

| Finally got the bike out after almost 5 months waiting for my neck to heal after surgery. It felt great, but only a 10 miles "break-in" ride. I put some mirror extenders on to see better as my range of left to right head movement is cut almost in half and so is the up and down range. I also put on some 40mm lower pegs to help with my knees on long rides and rox risers to sit me up straighter.
My only problem was getting the helmet on and off, even though it is a modular helmet it is a new Klim TK1200 carbon fiber at 3 pounds but it is stiff as hell opening it up to get my head in.
All in all I am happy with the results. I have a 600 mile ride coming up in two weeks so I will get in a couple of more short rides just to make sure everything is working properly (me and the bike)

| Installed pilot road 5's today and realized that installing the 2" Rox risers put a strain on the brake line so I had to reroute them and then bleed the brakes. Decided to do the rear brake too and that fluid looked terrrible, while the front fluid looked fine. Hmmmmm and I hardly use the rear brake.

| Set the sag on the suspension and stock settings on the preload, compression as a base line. Been for a short spin and its much better than the previous settings set by the first owner. Need a longer ride to maybe taylor the settings to myself but so far ok as I can actually feel the suspension working. Mind if like me you are from the 1970,s bikes particularly Italian you will know all about a "firm" ride and this is plush in comparison. | |

It may be worthwhile for you to check out the Vozz helmets ( [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]- no straps, the back opens up, you put your face in & close the back. Quick on & off, even with gloves, and it does not sit on your head, it clamps around it. A few of us here have them & love them - there's a thread on favourite helmets on this site for info. In case of difficulties, the front can be removed, leaving the pillow behind, beloved by EMT guys, and an extra justification for getting one.

| Email them for a distributor. I know they had them certified for the U.S. market (& Europe). If you can't get a fitting to sort the size, the current exchange rate is no advantage. BTW, their after sales service has been outstanding. I guess they are still trying to penetrate the market. Superior product that has yet hit mainstream? | |

| Damn, doesn't fit a 1200 Sport/Breva - why do you GRiSO guys get all the cool geegaws, while 1200 Sport riders ...... no need to answer Fighter pilots and Cargo plane pilots | |

| Went to work for the first time on the GRiSO. About 40 miles, over stunning countryside. Loved it but couldn't quite get used to the handling - flopping in to turns too much. Got home and checked pressures... oops. Note to self - never assume the previous owner knew the importance of such things! low 20s psi. Much better handling now there's sufficient air in the hoops. Adjusted the clutch lever too; it was a bugger to get in to neutral but works better now. Not enough travel on the original setting. Loving, nay adoring, the exhaust note when I give it some beans... |
