| Can anyone tell me if it's normal to have a light metallic noise when idling with the clutch pulled in? It disappears instantly when the clutch is released.
Thanks in advance. | |

| Yes, perfectly normal. When you pull the clutch in the plates separate and the ringing you hear is the intermediate plate between the two friction plates rocking back and forth in the flywheel splines as the flywheel accelerates and decelerates with the power and compression strokes of the engine.
The issue is exacerbated on the later bikes like the 1100 Sports, old Hi-Cams, V11's and the 2V CARC bikes due to their very light flywheels. Loop frames and early Tonti's it's much less pronounced but it's still there.

Thanks in advance. Yes, as Pete says and explains, totally Normal. As Dave Richardson said when he sold me my GRiSO "If you DONT hear that sound, something is wrong" I personally love the sound, took me a year to adjust to it, and I wish my other Guzzi's had it. | |

| Thanks for the reassurance. I thought it probably was normal and from the clutch as it sounds like a subdued version of the infamous Ducati clutch rattle. | |

| Same as Bulldog9. This clutch sound is part of the GRiSO personality. | |
