Hi, I've searched and it seems that the ECU talks to the dash using canbus but that's it, the lights etc aren't

Is this correct ?

I'm interested in both the 1100 and 1200

Correct but certain functions like the indicators are controlled by the dashboard rather than relays in a dedicated circuit.

Thanks, one of the reasons for asking is the previous owner has wired a separate switch to control the dash which is awkward to get to.

I was wondering whether I could use the headlight flash switch instead as I presume it is just a momentary switch.

Why'd they do that? Does the button on the switchblock not work?

Presumably not, it's not even there any more.
