Does anybody know a good match for silver engine paint on the 1100?

Not in The UK. We use a heatproof rattlecan product here, can't remember the trade name. I'll try and remember to look it up tomorrow. Michael uses it for refurbishing rocker covers on the 8V's which are the same silvery colour as the 1100 donk.

Forgive my ignorance, what pray tell is a "donk " as applied to a GRiSO ?
Over here the term is used for a `70s GM car jacked up and fitted with exceptionally garish oversize wheels & tyres

UK air cooled monster owners are very keen on Simoniz 5 wheel silver. It is sold as paint for alloy wheels but seems to cope well on the Ducati heads and barrels - https://www.motorcycleproducts.co.uk/simoniz-5-wheel-silver-spray-paint-500ml/1/022002

Does anyone know the proper way to prepare the valve covers for painting? One of mine has some road dings and I’d like to make it look new again. Thanks.
