Subject: 3 weeks 8,000mi on a GRiSO Thu Sep 28, 2023 10:11 am
I had a great 3 week road trip last month, on my 2012 Rollerized GRiSO..From San Francisco I toured about thru Utah ,Colorado and Kansas,Ind,Mo,Kentucky out to Tenn/Georgia for the Annual the Southern Spine Raid ..then I headed back the northern rout thru Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota,Montana etc and back home..Just under 8,000 miles, Thanks to months of preparation and advice from and reading of Pete Ropers posts on how to maintain the bike and for advice once that was all done " Now Just ride the Piss out of it" and also for help from Beetle for advising me on the exhaust and controls and in getting my bike mapped beautifully. I did not have one single problem with the bike..I ran 70-80 most days and toured and cruised on the way east , I did a couple 1100-1200 mile days the last couple days to get home riding 19-20 hours...The GRiSO never let me down..not her fault she has to stop every 125-130 miles for fuel..some stops I never even got off the bike..just pulled up to the pump, put the tank bag on my lap and filled her up and back on the road...she used about 1 pint of oil on the entire trip.. The GRiSO is a wonderful Machine when properly cared for .... Pics of the bike at the Halfway mark in Tenn, then upon my arrival home..then after I put her back to her normal daily trim

Excellent! The thought of 1200 miles in a day though, makes me hurt all over!

That is a long way to go without some wind protection. Inspirational……

Hopping on the bike and ticking off those miles meant you did everything right. Congratulations! You have me thinking about next year...but I think it would be the Stelvio instead of the GRiSO. My frame and the GRiSO frame couldn't do those miles.

Got to ride a Stelvio in the Kentucky hills last weekend. Definately a wonderful high mile platform

@kindoy2 - I can't make out a cruise control solution..but surely you're doing something to manage that kind of riding. What's your tool?
Some interesting mods to your late model bike, going with the 3 spoke mags over spokes, Arrow Titanium headers and Mistral high pipe. A well loved purposefully built bike!

Thats a great trip. I’ve done 5000 miles in two weeks on my GRiSO but your trip was awesome. What shock are you running? Great setup on the GRiSO.

Pipes are Arrow Ti headers and a Mistral Hi-Pipe with factory Pretzel. It's a system several of us run including Beetle on the 1400 and myself on both of my Grisos. It works very well and isn't obnoxiously loud.
