| Hi all.
I have lurked here for a few years having owned a 1200 Breva and 1200 Sport and now a recently acquired black 2007 GRiSO 1100. I like the 2 valve motor and having seen the whole 8v fiasco unfold over the years decided on the 1100 with no regrets.
The bike had done 14,000 miles and came with crash bars, hugger, fenda extenda, Termignoni silencer and although obviously not been wrapped in cotton wool was still in excellent shape.,
First job was to switch off the lambda, pull off the snorkel, tweak the map and check all fasteners, even though it came with a full service history everything else was double checked also.
I'm impressed with the bike's performance which is equivalent to the 1200 2v Sport and is enough for me. Having been round the houses a few times over the years with loads of different bikes I'm determined to keep the GRiSO even if it means extending the garage to find room. I like the looks, the power delivery and the admiring glances the bike gets, so for once this one's here to stay.

| Were the 1100's in the GRiSO the same motor as the V11 Sports or were they overhead camshafts like the 1200's ? | |

| The 1100's used the old pushrod donk. Motor is very similar to the V11 but with smaller TB's and twin plugs. Different six speed gearbox to the CARC bikes and of course the hi-mount alternator whereas the V11's use the Ducati alt on the nose of the crank.

Take care It took me about 6 hours to get it looking good, a previous owner had probably used it a bit in the winter. The only thing that defeated me was the rear shock which looks manky but works fine at the moment. Can the rear shock be dismantled and serviced? I replaced a fair few nuts and bolts with stainless items, sprayed the sump with Simoniz tough satin black paint and got through plenty of elbow grease along the way. No doubt at the end of the summer I will strip the suspension linkage down for a good clean and lube, but at the moment while the weather is still decent in Blighty I intend to just ride the thing. | |
