I only rode to the shops & back but.....when walking away from the bike at the shops an old codger with a walking frame sitting on a park bench said "Hey mate, what brand is that motorcycle of yours?" I says "Moto Guzzi, a small Italian brand". His eyes glazed over a little with confusion, then with a flare of youth he says "Huh, don't know it, but that thing sure sounded good!"

I still have my GRiSO and no doubt this is a forever bike
The GRiSO is not at the moment where I live but in another location for few more months.

I took the bike out the other day and clocked up 175,000 kilometres. It's still so much fun to ride.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Set out early to do the four corners of Wales 600 miles 14 hours - but my weedy old man's hand was having problems with the clutch by 120 mile so I short cut it to 250
Nice day for what it was [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

GRiSO at Lake Tahoe. With Mark's mapping, the Arrow muffler, and a tank of ethanol-free fuel, this is about as good as things get on a Sunday afternoon. Cold start, hot start, and at 8000+ feet... it's fantastic!
Furthermore, this bike has no business handling as well as it does! Very pleased with the Mupo shock and fork valving, which I heartily recommend.

Well as the temperature was reasonable and it wasn't raining for once I went out for a little gallop on the GRiSO and when I returned I found my brand new set of spare throttlebodies had finally arrived. They are all glistening and new and fondling them makes me moist!

Fitted a Ventura rack as the Guzzi one was too short for even the smallest tailpack.
It is fits inside the C bow mountings
I dont think that it looks too bad and it makes it easier to see the styling of the tail-piece

Just some tight turns around Lake Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, USA. Following the shoreline can get tricky, since there are some unpaved sections. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Nice part of the country. I liked Idaho when we visited.
Today I very nearly ended up getting a ticket. Heading in to Queanbeyan there were some road repairs being done near the defence headquarters. Stop and go man was brandishing his lollipop so I waited, second in line. Got the go ahead and the car ahead of me pulled off. Checked mirrors. Nothing behind me, pull away.
The car in front pulls off into a property a couple of hundred metres up the road and I gently accelerate up to cruise. Within 800 metres I look in my mirrors and they are full of Highway Patrol car! Glance at speedo, 118 kph indicated. That's about 114 in real life and it's a 100 zone. Fuck it!
Anyway I don't hit the brakes, just roll off a bit. Think about pulling over but sod it, he hasn't put his lights on so I just keep cruising at about an indicated 106-107 which would be 102/3 in reality.
He obviously checked his onboard info and found I've been a cleanskin for seven or so years and after sitting right on my tail for three kilometres he drops back and we roll sedately on into Queanbeyan. I was very attentive when we entered the 80k zone about 5km from town and even more attentive when we came to the 60k city limit. Pulls up next to me in the outside lane at the roundabout in Queanbeyan and very deliberately doesn't *Look* at me.
Oh well, another bullet dodged. He must of been eager for doughnuts......
Good thing he didn't pull me up and look at the elapsed top speed eh.......... I did at the gas station. It said 159. Must of been a mistake. Something wrong with the dash I reckon.
