ECU Error Code 56 Vehicle speed

Hi Grisoers,

have had a look in the archives, but no results for ECU Error Code 56 here in the forum so far.

My GRiSO, during the summer, is under a cover, in Croatia, with some torrential rain every now and then. It happened to me this summer twice that after some rainy days, with the good weather returning, I take my GRiSO out for a ride and the speedometer is not working and of course the warning red triangle appears.
After a few days of hot, dry weather, the error disappears, the speedometer shows again. As said, this has now happened twice.
Both times I checked the ECU error codes. It was 'ECU Error Code 56 Vehicle speed'. It seems like that the vehicle speed sensor must have a bad contact.

Can anyone tell where to find this Vehicle Speed sensor? I guess somewhere around the wheel hub?

So you say a bit of WD40 and then some contact spray won't make it.

Sorry for the further question, but I have now no access to my GRiSO: is the of the part connector easily accessible?

Do you have by any chance a MG part nr?

Its easily accessible and you need to seal it with some silicon

Apparently, the part number is also known as 06765400.  Interestingly, my parts list for the 2015 model (GU117) doesn't list either.

But the parts list for the 2007 - 2013 (GU088) does. It is now evident that the part number for the 2015 was changed to 883768 (It's shown on the dashboard page).
