The different ECU-driven riding modes might present a challenge for fiddling with engine mapping (?). If so, I really hope that Guzzi sort out the fuelling and put decent O2 sensor mapping etc into the thing. Would want to be a fair bit better than a stock GRiSO in that regard.
There will be no fiddling with the engine mapping. They've already made the 7SM in the V85tt so that you can't deactivate lambda. It's likely the 11MP will be further diddle-proof, assuming we eventually crack it. I expect the ECU in the V100 will be more tightly shut than a frog's arse.
I would also think that there will be a whole new learning curve WRT tuning with the new motor. Even if it is possible to break the encryption in the ECU.
Has it been released yet whether it is using a single TB or a twin TB set up? I haven't been paying a lot of attention.

Let's hope there isn't too much 'snatch' in the throttle response then; else the fooler brigade will be raking it in.

I think this bike will be a sales success for Guzzi unless the price is overly expensive,
I was really impressed by the bike in the flesh but wasn’t allowed to throw a leg over it and it does look a little on the compact size for a tall rider. (not sure about the wings, maybe a bit gimmicky ) I thought it looked a beauty in the candy red and the proportions of the engine with the shorter compact heads look great, also the technical specs for the engine/head design sound good to me for that extra power that I always feared the v85 was missing.
When I first saw the spy shots I wasn’t really sold on the styling but I have to say if it fits my 5’11” frame I’d love to have one, looks great to me, I think the styling of the swing arm/shaft drive looks good and will be surprised if it doesn’t work good.
Won’t be selling the GRiSO but would like to park the Mandela V100 beside it, looking forward to the ride reviews

Finally, a few details - and still more speculation:
Regarding the 11MP ECU, which is most likely the one they will use - it's in the E5 bikes now (V85TT), mine comes with 5 modes: Sport, Street, Rain, Custom, Off-road.
I would assume this is the minimum for such as the Mandello - though I could be talking out my arse, too.
Sport, unless you are on a track or a very capable rider, I find too touchy - throttle response way too sensitive. Street suits me on the street, less responsive but not overly so. Rain I haven't used. Off-Road is necessary in the dirt, especially to slow down the throttle response (fun and games when you hit the dirt in street mode - NOT) and turn off rear traction control. Seems to work. Custom I haven't gone near yet
I would imagine the V100 would not have an Off-Road map.
However, the point of this raving, is that there are multi-modes already available and you should find one to suit your style. However the E5 thing makes them run like a startled rabbit until it warms up a bit, then it behaves. To date I've found no fault in the Street map, once warmed up, though the comparison with the 5AM ECU should not be done - different beasts all together.

It’s all quiet on this thread since Tony’s post last month, albeit Guzzi themselves haven’t released much since EICMA. I was saddened by the level of negativity on here regarding this new model. I do appreciate that many have lived through the false dawns of the past.
Personally I think the basic V100 (shown in red) with a suggested price of about £15,500 is an ‘interesting’ introduction. It’s proposed outputs of 115hp, and 105Nm are conservative, but reasonable to ensure a new engine gathers a reputation of being bulletproof. Realistically it would need to be a lot lighter than the GRiSO’s 230kg, to better it’s performance. Early reports are suggesting it to be ‘nimble’ we wait and see.
I very much like the looks of the green / silver Corsa? model, and it’s semi-active Ohlins suspension puts it in good company with current competition. There was a price of some £17,000 suggested, but I’d expect it to be nearer £20k.
The current engine would present a welcome boost to the V85TT’s 80hp and 80Nm, and allow them to compete with other adventure bikes. V100TT with 25% more power & torque anyone? A naked roadster could make a follow-up model, GRiSO style?
My greatest concern would be to find a Spring 2023 launch date….

No negativity here: I absolutely love it. It is perfect for me: it will replace my big fat FJR1300 with a great MG twin, and give me wind protection when I need it with the brilliant active aero feature. I put down a $1,000 deposit at the local dealer (San Jose, California) and should get one as soon as they arrive. Can't wait!
I love it too if it works, I DO believe that's what they are trying to get done. Make it work so WE don't have to. Hard not to be negative after fixing all there crap that didn't work when they could have been better at testing their product. They don't get that computer good is not good enough. You got to ride it more than what ever they test it at now. If nothing is heard it means it don't work, better than millions on warranty work. I'll keep riding the old shit, I don't need to keep up with the neighbors and warranty. Buy a horse instead, the next sunflash and it's all shit.

I hadn’t but looking through the add, they’re inviting deposits with no details as to when they’ll be available.
Caught in the moment, I rang my local dealer. He only has EICMA details, and nothing on weights or seat height. Guzzi / Piaggio are telling them that it’s still under development. As such he thinks July-September would be possible delivery dates?

From this video, the ECU is indeed the 11MP - ECU busters get your sniffers on
The delayed 2021 100th Anniversary celebration in Mandello has been confirmed and is scheduled for 8,9,10 September this year. What do you reckon the chances are that it will be re-released then or there abouts.
I would of expected there to have been many more sightings of prototypes and development mules by now. Perhaps they are out there, just not around Mandello. All of the main development for Piaggio brands is probably done at Pontadera or Noale or wherever so if there are mules out there? That's where they will probably appear and maybe the press aren't looking for them?
I hope they do pull their fingers out, not that I'll be buying one, but they are running out of time to make a saleable IC engined bike.
